Driver Arrested After Aloha Pursuit

On Friday, April 07, 2017, at about 3:30 a.m., Sheriff's deputies received reports of a reckless driver on SW Tualatin Valley Highway (TV Hwy). The female driver, 42-year-old Dawn Marie Catalano, initially stopped at the 7-11 located at SW TV Hwy and SW 192nd Ave. She asked someone for directions and then rammed their car with hers. She left the parking lot and drove west on TV Hwy.

Catalano nearly struck highway workers on TV Hwy between SW 209th Ave. and SW Cornelius Pass Rd. Hillsboro police tried to stop the car, but Catalano refused to stop and attempted to ram a Hillsboro Police car. Hillsboro Police discontinued the pursuit when Catalano drove in the oncoming lane in an attempt to hit a police car head-on.

Sheriff's deputies found the car driving east on TV Hwy near Cornelius Pass Road and again tried to stop her, but she refused. Catalano led deputies on a pursuit east bound. Deputies were able to use spike strips on her tires at SW 185th Ave and then used a PIT maneuver on her car to stop her. The pursuit ended on SW 170th Ave near SW Alexander St.

Catalano was taken into custody at about 3:55 a.m. Deputies received reports that she may have hit a vehicle in the city of Beaverton and one in the City of Hillsboro. Catalano was transported to the Washington County Jail and charged with multiple counts of Reckless Driving, Hit and Run, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Recklessly Endangering a Highway Worker, and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
