Tuesday morning, Multnomah County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report that an unresponsive person had been found by a citizen while walking in the Lewis and Clark Recreation Area near Troutdale, OR. Deputies responded to the area, where they determined the white adult male was deceased.
The body was found in a homeless camp located inside the recreation area, near the train tracks. The man was reported to have been living in a tent near several other campers. Sheriff Mike Reese commented, "This tragic incident highlights the seriousness of homelessness in Multnomah County. The Sheriff's Office is committed to a proactive response to find solutions that provide resources to those in need, and safety to our community."
Sheriff’s detectives were notified and are conducting an investigation, no signs of foul play are present. The body has been turned over to the Multnomah County Medical Examiner's Office.
