UPDATE: SW Tichner Drive reopened after the hillside was determined to be safe and the debris was hauled away.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation advises the traveling public that SW Tichner Drive is closed between West Burnside Road and SW Kingston Drive because of a landslide that sent debris into the roadway.
There is no estimate on when the road may be reopened. Crews will assess the risk to city staff and the public Tuesday and then clear the debris.
People traveling to Washington Park should consider alternate routes, driving via the Zoo Exit from U.S. 26 West and public transit. Ongoing construction has closed several routes from the downtown area to the park.
