Two Washington County Sheriff’s Department patrol cars were hit by suspected DUI drivers on Friday night.
A deputy on Highway 26 near 185th Avenue was hit by a driver. The deputy was in the patrol car stopped on the side of the highway following a traffic stop when the vehicle was rear-ended. The vehicle’s emergency lights were on.
The suspect ran from the scene. A K9 team found the man and took 25-year-old Marco Rosario-Palma into custody.
The officer was hospitalized and reported to be in good spirits.
Deputies arrested an additional six drivers for DUI on Friday night.
