Bottle Bombs Found At Hillsboro Park

A Hillsboro Parks Department worker found bottle bombs at Reedville Creek Park Tuesday morning. One of the bottles exploded, but didn’t injured the worker.

Hillsboro Police found five bottle bombs. They’re made using plastic soda bottles, a caustic chemical and other material. When the bottle is shaken then chemical gets warmer and the bottle explodes.

Two nearby schools were placed in lockdown while the grounds were checked for other bottle bombs. None was found.

The Portland Police Bureau Bomb Squad responded to disable the remaining bottles using a device that blew the caps off the bottles. The video below shows how the bottles were disarmed.
