The suspect in a fatal hit and run in southeast Portland turned himself in to Police early Friday morning.
At 11:19 p.m., police were called to Southeast 148th and Stark where a 37-year-old man was hit and killed by a driver who fled the scene.
The caller to 911 reported the suspect's vehicle was dark in color and fled on 148th Avenue.
At 4:45 a.m., 23-year-old Israel Aldama-Sanchez turned himself in and was booked into the Multnomah County Jail on charges of Criminally Negligent Homicide and Failure to Perform the Duties of a Driver (Hit and Run).
Aldama-Sanchez will be arraigned on Monday in Multnomah County Court.
The victim is identified as Corey Simmons.
