Microcinema Opens At PDX

Hollywood Theatre has their grand opening of a mini theatre at the Portland International Airport Thursday evening.

It’s a 17-seat theatre that shows short documentaries, animations and music videos that are all 4 to 10 minutes long.

Alison Hallett with Hollywood Theatre, says it’s an hour long program with 10 short films that are all made in Oregon and kid friendly.

Hallett says they’ve partnered with Portland State University to showcase student-made short documentaries and they are looking forward to finding more community partners to show the work of other local film makers.

The microcinema is located at Terminal C, which is where all the food is at. The theatre has a lot of open space, plenty of room for your bags, as well as standing room.

The free debut starts at 5 p.m. February 23rd.
