Man Arrested For Bat Attack

Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man after he allegedly menaced three women with a baseball bat, assaulted one and resisted arrest.

Sheriff's deputies were called to the Country Haven Mobile Home Park at 23585 NW Jacobson Road Tuesday night on a report of a man who was threatening people with a baseball bat. It was initially reported that the man struck an adult female resident with the bat.

When deputies arrived on scene, 33-year-old Darnell J. Labossiere was uncooperative and fought with them as they tried to take him into custody. During the struggle, he punched a sergeant in the head. Deputies finally used a Taser to help subdue Labossiere. Neither the sergeant nor Labossiere was injured.

The investigation revealed that Labossiere had threatened three adult females with the bat. He also physically assaulted one of the females, though not with the bat. There were no serious injuries to any of the victims.

Labossiere was charged with Assault IV, Unlawful Use of Weapon (three counts), Menacing (three counts), Resisting Arrest and Harassment. He is currently lodged in the Washington County Jail, with bail set at $250,000.
