Flight Cancellations Expected At PDX

Portland International and Sea-Tac are among the 40 U-S airports ordered to reduce flights by 10-percent.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy says it’s necessary to maintain safety amid air traffic control staffing shortages during the government shutdown.

A four-percent cut in flights takes effect today, with up to six-percent cut by next Tuesday and the full 10-percent by next Friday.

The Port of Portland released a statement saying it’s committed to keeping daily operations at PDX running smoothly. Air travelers should check directly with their airline for the status of their flights.
