It’s going to be a hot one this weekend which means more visitors to Sauvie Island’s beaches. A new limited entry parking pilot program will be in effect. This will be the second weekend of the program.
Here are the basics:
- Through Labor Day (Sept. 1, 2025), vehicles need a free Sauvie Island Beaches Pass in addition to the Wildlife Area Parking Permit ($10 daily/$30 annual ) to park on weekends and holidays at the beaches' parking lots—Walton Beach, Collins Beach, Willow Bar and North Unit.
- A check station will be in effect at the Eastside Check Station (Reeder and Rentenaar Rd) to check vehicles for the Pass and Permit. (Photo of check station attached). Vehicles will need to show the documents to go park at the beaches.
Because Beaches Passes are limited and cell service on Sauvie Island can be spotty, visitors should get the Beaches Pass and Parking Permit BEFORE they go to Sauvie Island.
