Police Arrest Alleged Child Predator

A 35-year-old man has been arrested after attempting to meet up with a 14-year-old girl at a local park.

On December 17, 2024, Portland’s Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) assisted PPB’s Child Abuse Team and their Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Unit in serving an arrest warrant and a search warrant in Northwest Portland. After chatting online for several weeks using a social media app, and then moving to texting, the suspect attempted to meet up with the 14-year-old girl at a local park, after which he intended to take her to his residence.

Samuel Digiovanni was arrested on an indictment warrant and booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center. He is charged with Luring a Minor, Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree, Attempted Rape in the Third Degree, Attempted Sodomy in the Third Degree, and Attempted Using a Child in Display of Sexually Explicit Conduct.
