“I want my callers to know there’s someone who understands them who is answering the phone and that we care. I just want to give back to the community. It means a lot to me,” Rachel Miles-Davis, Senior Dispatcher and coach.
No previous experience with 9-1-1 is required. We provide a full-time paid training program with classroom learning, simulation exercises, study and practice time, support from an experienced coach, and daily feedback.
To qualify, applicants must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be at least 18 years old at the time of hire
- Pass a typing test netting 40 words per minute with 90 percent accuracy, and
- Pass a background and psychological assessment.
