Police Identify Woman Killed Near PSU

Portland Police have identified the woman who was killed early Monday morning outside of a convenience store near Portland State University.

Amara Marluke was 19-years-old.

Police have not said what led to the shooting.

The suspect, 20-year-old Keenan Harpole, was arrested in Bend after turning himself in to police. He'll be charged with Murder in the Second Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Portland State University President Stephen Percy has issued a statement following the shooting. He says, Amara Marluke was a student, an artist, an activist, and a vibrant member of the university community.

He says they will work together as a campus community to heal. The university is making resources available to students at the Center for Student Health and Counseling, the PSU Employee Assistance Program, the Women's Resource Center and the Cultural Resources Center.
