Rioters Damage Tigard Police Station

A demonstration on Thursday night turned into a riot in Tigard and demonstrators broke windows and tagged buinsesses and the police station.

The demonstration was in opposition to the fatal officer involved shooting in Tigard on January 6th.

Tigard Police report that at around 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, approximately 100 individuals gathered at a business on SW Main Street in the City of Tigard. The group traveled to the Tigard Police Department, blocking traffic and tagging public and private property. At 8:45 p.m., the group arrived at the Tigard Police Department, broke windows, and tagged city property. The demonstration was declared an unlawful assembly, and shortly afterward, a riot was declared.

The group walked through Tigard’s downtown business district on their way to and from the police department and vandalized several businesses. The group broke windows and tagged several properties in the area.

During the incident, one person was arrested. Zane Saleem Bsoul is charged with one count of riot.
