A driver who was in the emergency lane of I-5 was killed in a crash Saturday morning.
Oregon State Police say 67-year-old David Thaler, of Lebanon, was driving slowly on the shoulder of I-5 near Kuebler Boulevard, south of Salem, when another truck went onto the shoulder and hit Thaler's truck.
Thaler was killed in the crash.
The driver of the other truck is identified as 29-year-old Eduardo Mendoza, of Salem. He wasn't hurt.
The investigation continues.
