After searching a sixth day without finding 20-year-old Allyson Watterson the Washington County Sheriff's Office has suspended the search.
Watterson went missing on Sunday after she was with her boyfriend Benjamin Garland.
They were seen together prior to Noon by a homeowner in the area. Monday morning, Garland was found sleeping in the back of a pickup. Monday night, Watterson was reported missing by Garland's father and Garland was found by deputies near a stolen truck.
The Sheriff's Office says the decision to suspend that phase of the investigation was made after the search and rescue teams spent thousands of search hours covering an area of about 1,600 acres.
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Allyson’s disappearance. If new information comes to light or new areas to search are identified, the search and rescue teams may be recalled to continue their efforts.
