A shooting Thursday afternoon at the Smith Tower retirement center in downtown Vancouver had three victims.
The shooting happened in the lobby and the suspect returned to his apartment where he was barricaded inside.
SWAT and police negotiators eventually got the man to surrender and he was taken into custody.
Two people were wounded and taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. One person was killed.
Detectives are investigating what lead to the shooting.

I commend our police officers, fire and EMS personnel who quickly responded to the scene. I have the utmost confidence in our officers as they work to resolve the situation.”
