Tips helped Washington County Sheriff's detectives identify a suspect in the hit and run of a cyclist last Saturday northwest of Forest Grove.
The crash happened on Northwest Hillside Road near Clapshaw Hill Road.
The cyclist suffered a leg injury.
A witness says the driver made an obscene hand gesture as he drove away in his convertible.
Deputies arrested 55-year-old William Offinga on one count of reckless driving and one count of felony hit and run.
A vehicle matching the description from witnesses was located with damage consistent with a crash.
