An elderly woman died in a house fire Friday morning in Boring.
The house is located in the 37100 block of Lusted Road.
When firefighters arrived the house was fully involved.
They found a man outside of the house who had suffered critical burn injuries. They believe the man is the son of the woman who died. He was taken to the Oregon Burn Center at Legacy Emanuel Hospital for treatment.
Firefighters were slowed by an electrical box that was arcing.
There were no fire hydrants on the rural road, so all water had to be trucked to the scene.
The house was so badly damaged by the fire that crews had to fight it from the outside.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
