A wet snow fell in the hills around Portland, Vancouver and Salem early Sunday morning. More may be on the way Sunday night and Monday.
Most of the roads were wet pavement Sunday morning with temperatures above freezing.
Sunday night and Monday morning another storm moves into the area that could bring 1 to 2 inches of snow the Valley floor.
The storm is moving up from the south and combined with east winds through the Columbia River Gorge it could set the stage for snow Monday morning. But, it might also be rain.
The National Weather Service has a Winter Storm Watch from Noon Sunday through 6 p.m. Monday for areas from Southwest Washington to the Southern Willamette Valley. 1 to 2 inches of snow could fall in the Portland, Vancouver and Salem areas.
From Albany to Eugene heavy snow is possible with accumulations of up to five inches possible. Much of the snow could fall Monday morning.
The low Monday night, in the Portland area, will reach 26 which would cause roads to be icy.
Temperatures all week are expected to be 10 - 20 degrees below normal for this time of year.
