Searchers looking for 76-year-old Marie Evans found her body Monday near the shore of the Columbia River south of her house.
She was reported missing on Saturday while walking near her residence at 13004 NW Marina Way.
The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office says she suffered from early signs of dementia.
Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue teams, working alongside searchers from Mountain Wave Search and Rescue, Pacific NW Search and Rescue, and Washington County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue discovered Evans's body Monday afternoon near the bank of the Columbia River, south of her home.
Preliminary reports indicate that Evans died from a combination of exposure to the weather and poor physical health, and there were no signs of foul play.
The Multnomah County Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
