Portland Police arrested a man for murder after finding the body of a person in the car he was driving.
Police say when they pulled over 58-year-old Timothy Mackley Monday night at Southeast 92nd and Holgate Boulevard for a traffic violation, they found a deceased person in the car with him.
Mackley was arrested and taken to the Multnomah County Jail and is facing a murder charge.
Members of the Portland Police Bureau Detective Division's Homicide Detail have assumed the investigation. Criminalists with the Portland Police Bureau's Forensic Evidence Division and a member of the Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office responded to assist with the investigation.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death and to identify the deceased. Additional information will be provided after the autopsy and next of kin have been notified.
