Searchers who were looking for a missing Gresham woman near Mt. Hood found a body Monday afternoon.
55-year-old Diana Bober was last seen August 29th.
Over the weekend, Bober’s car was found near the Zig Zag Ranger Station near Welches.
On August 30th, a pair of hikers found a backpack and left it at the Ranger Station which was closed at the time.
Search teams talked with the hikers and learned an approximate location of where they found the backpack, which helped them narrow down their search.
Family members say Bober was an avid day hiker, but didn’t have experience to spend extended periods of time in the forest.
The Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the identity of the body and the cause of death.
