A Baker County judge faces a deadline Tuesday to make a decision concerning his ruling against Governor Kate Brown's Executive Orders affecting businesses and churches.

Judge Matthew Shirtcliff must either drop his ruling or explain to the Oregon Supreme Court why he issued the order.

Shirtcliff's initial ruling determined the Governor's Executive Order was invalid, because it had passed a 30 day limit.

The Governor's attorney argued the order was based on a law that doesn't have a time limit.
