Tornado Touches Down In North Portland

The National Weather Service confirms a tornado touched down in North Portland Sunday afternoon.

It happened around 3 p.m.  The tornado touched down near the Portland Meadows Race Track near I-5 causing tree damage.

It moved past the Jubitz Truck Stop and flipped three empty truck trailers on their sides. Minor damage occurred to a roof.

The EF-0 tornado had winds of 65 - 85 miles an hour.

The storm also brought hail, thunder, lightning and heavy rain to the area.

No injuries were reported.
