Injured Hiker Rescued Near Tamolitch Pool

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office rescued a woman who was injured hiking to the Tamolitch Pool on the Mckenzie River Monday afternoon.

18-year old Sarah Grace Shepler, of Eugene, was attempting to reach the pool on a very steep trail when she fell and injured herself.  

Shepler could not put any weight on her injured foot.  

Sweet Home Fire Department with the assistance of McKenzie Fire Department was able to set up a rope system to move her to the trail.  

Once on the trail, 18 Search and Rescue members from the Linn County Sheriff’s Office carried her in a wheeled stretcher to the trailhead.  Once at the trailhead, Shepler refused transport in the ambulance.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Eugene Mountain Rescue, Sweet Home Fire Department, and McKenzie Fire Department.
