A 14-year-old counselor at Canyonview Camp near Silverton drowned Wednesday evening.
Naomi Rudolph was swimming in a two acre pond when she began to struggle.
Lifeguards attempted to save her, but she had gone under the water by the time they arrived at her location.
Firefighters recovered Rudolph’s body.
Rudolph was a junior counselor at the camp. Her family is from Keizer.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says it’s the first drowning they’ve responded to this year.
