Large Water Main Break Closes Vancouver Road

A part of Northeast Salmon Creek Avenue in Vancouver is closed due to a water main break that spilled gallons of water onto the road.

Clark County Fire District 6 responded to a report of a broken water main around 10:30 Thursday night. Along with Deputies with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office they easily found the break gushing water down Salmon Creek Avenue.

Fortunately, the excess spillage routed into the creek, and not into the Waters’ Edge apartments nearby. As a result no homes are flooded by the break.

Salmon Creek avenue is closed between Betts Road and Salmon Creek Street, and may remain so for up to a week.

Clark Public Utility crews were able to close the break and immediately restore water service to affected homes in the area. They ask that if anyone is without water to call (360) 992-3000.
