Portland Police were called to a house near McCoy Park on Fiske Avenue Tuesday night when a man who was believed to be armed held a woman and child inside of a house.
The incident started around 10:30 p.m.
The Special Emergency Reaction Team and the Crisis Negotiating Team were called and negotiators were able to get the woman and child out of the house. The man surrendered around 1:30 a.m. without incident.
The woman was treated on the scene for injuries she suffered during an assault.
The man was taken into custody.
