Residents living near North Gresham Grade School heard a gunshot around 11:15 p.m. Monday and called police.
Officers found an SUV that had run into the school and a man dead inside the vehicle.
Police have not said how the man was killed. They have not released the man's name.
Classes at the school were canceled Tuesday, because the parking lot is a crime scene.
