$5,000 Reward For Foul Mouthed Bandit

The Financial Institution Security Task Force (FIST), working with Portland Police Bureau Robbery detectives, is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect involved in several robberies of financial institutions in the Portland area.

The suspect is believed to be responsible for four robberies at financial institutions:

April 3 at OnPoint Credit Union -- 1720 Northeast 9th Avenue

April 4 at Wells Fargo Bank -- 5730 Northeast Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard

April 7 at Bank of the West -- 905 Northeast Halsey Street

April 7 at Advantis Credit Union -- 3515 Northeast 15th Avenue

The suspect is described as a Black male, 30 to 49 years old, 5'10" tall, 185 pounds, with a medium complexion, and a heavy build. The suspect wears glasses and generally wears a hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap during the robberies. The suspect has implied that he's armed with a gun but no gun has actually been seen in any of the robberies.

Detectives nicknamed him the "Foul Mouth Bandit" due to the language he uses during the robberies.

Anyone with information about this case should contact Detective Brett Hawkinson at 503-823-1080, brett.hawkinson@portlandoregon.gov.

FIST is made up of representatives of financial institutions and law enforcement agencies. FIST works to help reduce crimes against Oregon financial institutions, their customers and employees. Final approval for any reward payment is solely within the discretion of FIST, based in part on the recommendation of law enforcement.
