Law Enforcement Memorial Plaza Dedication Set

This Wednesday, May 10, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office will dedicate its "Law Enforcement Memorial Plaza" during its Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony, set to begin at 1 p.m. The media is invited to attend.

The Plaza honors fallen Clackamas County law enforcement officers and deputies. When fully completed, it will feature bronze castings of two Honor Guards and a police K-9 at attention guarding a fallen officer, designed and manufactured by artist Rip Caswell. A concrete cast image of Mt. Hood will provide a dramatic backdrop.

"It is our hope that this will be a place where people can come to reflect and remember the incredible sacrifice of our fallen officers," said Clackamas County Sheriff Craig Roberts.

Years in the planning, the project cost $350,000, including donated professional services. A list of donors is below.

"It's taken many years to get to this point," said Sheriff Roberts. "On behalf of all law-enforcement members and their families in Clackamas County, I want to thank our sponsors from the bottom of my heart for their tremendous support."

Concept sketches of the Law Enforcement Memorial Plaza and photos of the near-completed Memorial Plaza are attached to this release, as is a PDF of the program for Wednesday's Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony.
