Tuesday night, a Portland Police Bureau motorcycle officer was stopped on McLoughlin Boulevard waiting to turn into Ross Island Sand and Gravel when he was hit from behind by a pickup.
The officer was not seriously hurt. He was treated and released from a hospital.
The driver of the pickup, 62-year-old Robert Kaleta, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.
