PDX Spring Break Travel

Portland International Airport is gearing up for another busy spring break and is on track to break an all-time passenger record.

Not only is it spring break for Oregon and Washington schools back-to-back this year, it’s also the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament and the Women's Basketball Sweet 16.

Kama Simonds, Spokesperson for the Port of Portland, says the airport’s busiest forecasted days are March 24th, 27th, 30th and 31st. 54,000 travelers going through PDX are expected each of these days, compared to the usual 47,000 that pass through this time of year.

PDX set an all-time passenger record – 18.3 million – in 2016, and the airport is expected to break that record for 2017.

Simonds says to make sure you don’t miss your flight, get to the airport 90 minutes before your scheduled flight, check on real-time parking availability before getting there, and check with TSA to find out what to pack and what you can and can’t take on the plane.

They also have a new shuttle bus app that shows where the buses are at in real time.
