Arrest Made In Washougal Murder

On March 6th at around 1:00 p.m. Benjamin W. Walker, age 27 was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of Murder 1st Degree in connection to the death investigation underway at the residence located in the 3300 Block of H Street, Washougal.

At around 5:45 a.m. Monday, Walker contacted police officers at the Washougal Police Department and gave the officers information which lead to the welfare check at the residence. The first responders entered the residence and verified there was a deceased person inside the residence. Detectives interviewed Walker and developed probable cause to arrest him for the Murder 1st Degree.

Other residents were inside the home and were not aware of the incident until after police arrived.

The crime scene investigation is still in the primary stages and will be ongoing throughout the day by detectives from the Washougal Police Department and Clark County Sheriff's Office Major Crimes Unit. The identity of the victim has not been confirmed by the medical examiners office. The victim's name cannot be released until after the M.E.'s office confirms the identity of the victim.

There are no additional known victims in connection to this incident and the police have no reason to believe the community is in danger.
