The Bellevue Police Department says they are actively investigating Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch for assault and personal property damage stemming from an alleged incident early Sunday morning.
The alleged incident took place at 2:30 a.m. at a downtown Bellevue apartment unit. A female victim has alleged that Lynch was the perpetrator.
Per the Bellevue PD says they are in the process of gathering information about the alleged incident, including whether Lynch was even involved. The release states that no domestic violence or sexual assault was involved in this allegation.
The case has been assigned a detective and is being investigated. No arrests have been made.
Lynch was arrested and charged with a DUI in July 2012 in Oakland, Calif.
Lynch ultimately plead guilty to a lesser charge of alcohol-related reckless driving in February to close that case.
Lynch was expected to receive two years probation as punishment for that incident. If it turns out Lynch is involved in the Bellevue case, it could lead to further punishment in California in addition to possible discipline from the NFL.
