Police Release Forensic Sketches of Mystery Woman

Police Release Forensic Sketches of Mystery Woman
Posted March 11th, 2014 @ 7:01pm by Gale Cunningham

In January, the skeletal remains of a young woman killed in a horrific crash on I-5 in 1991, were exhumed from Longview Memorial Gardens in Longview, Washington, in hopes of identifying her.

The remains were sent to Seattle, where a forensic artist reconstructed her face on paper. The sketches are based on the features of her skull and the physical descriptions of witnesses who last saw the woman before the fiery collision that claimed her life on Southbound I-5 near Kalama, Washington in May of 1991.

Police sketches are routinely used in criminal cases, but rarely used to identify a person killed in an accident. Investigators hope someone may recognize these sketches and come up with a name, so they can return the woman's body to her family.
