The young homeless man who accompanied singer Miley Cyrus to the MTV Video Music Awards and who was wanted on an Oregon arrest warrant, turned himself in Thursday.
The Director of Polk County Community Corrections says 22-year-old Jesse Helt was booked on a probation violation. He then posted $2,500 bail. He is scheduled to appear before a judge in about 2 weeks.
Court records saw that Helt pleaded guilty to misdemeanor criminal mischief and criminal trespass several years ago and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and probation. The arrest warrant was issued in November of 2011 after he violated probation.
Helt had been living in Los Angeles at a homeless shelter when he met Cyrus. She brought him on stage Sunday to raise awareness to homelessness.
