An investigation is underway into a fatal single car crash that happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday north of Sandy near Southeast Hudson and Lusten roads.
The car hit a tree and caught fire. A neighbor rescued one person who was taken to a hospital on Life Flight. That person died at the hospital.
Three other people in the car were killed.
A small dog ran from the car. It was later captured. It suffered burn injuries and was taken to a veterinarian. The dog had a microchip that police hope will help them identify one of the victims.
The medical examiner will need to identify the other victims, because of the fire.
