----- Spurs eliminate the Trail Blazers in five games with a 114-95 victory Tuesday night at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Victor Wembanyama finsihed with 17 points, 14 rebounds, and six blocked shots and De'Aaron Fox added 21 points and nine assists as the San Antonio eliminated the Portland Trail Blazers from the NBA Playoffs with a 114-95 victory in Game 5 Tuesday night at Frost Bank Center.
Deni Avdija led Portland with 22 points and Robert Williams III added 11 points and seven rebounds.
San Antonio dominated the first half and made Portland play catch up the entire game. The Spurs led 65-45 at halftime after making 66% of their shots and 7-of-15 from three-point range while Portland struggled to find offense. The Trail Blazers made just 36% of their shots including an abysmal 4-of-21 from beyond-the-arc.
Portland scored 11-straight in the fourth quarter to cut the deficit to nine with 8:02 remaining following a three from Sidy Cissoko to force a Spurs timeout. Later, a three-point play from Jrue Holiday once again cut the deficit to nine with 5:46 remaining but that was as close as they could get.
The Spurs responded with a 17-6 run to put the game out of reach.
San Antonio will advance to the Western Conference Semifinals to meet either the Denver Nuggets or the Minnesota Timberwolves.
