CJ McCollum scored 24 points on 5-of-9 shooting from three-point range and Damian Lillard finished with 22 points and 10 assists as the Blazers finished up the regular season with a 132-116 victory over the Denver Nuggets Sunday night at Moda Center.
With the win, Portland secured the sixth seed in the Western Conference and a first round match up with the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets wound up third in the West after the Clippers lost their finale in Oklahoma City.
The series will be a rematch of the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals that Portland won 4-3. The Trail Blazers will start their series on either Saturday, May 22nd or Sunday, May 23rd.
With Nuggets Head Coach Mike Malone playing his starters limited minutes, the Blazers were able to control the game from start to finish.
The Blazers jumped out to a 43-22 lead in the opening quarter, making nine of 15 3-point attempts. They went up 72-55 at the half. Portland put the game away in the third quarter building a 95-74 lead.
Up Next- The Trail Blazers will meet the Denver Nuggets in the 2021 NBA Playoffs. The series will being on May 22nd or May 23rd.
