Thunder Strike The Trail Blazers

----- Paul George scores 36 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder top the Portland Trail Blazers 123-114 Tuesday night at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City, OK.

The Thunder offense was too much for the Blazers on Tuesday night.

Paul George poured in a game-high 36 points and Russell Westbrook added a triple-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 14 assists as the Thunder top the Trail Blazers 123-114 at Chesapeake Energy Arena in Oklahoma City.

The Thunder torched the Blazers shooting 50.6% from the field including 11-for-23 from three-point range with all five starters scoring in double-figures. Steven Adams scored 14 points and pulled down eight rebounds and Terrance Ferguson added 14 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

Portland (29-20) got a team-high 34 points from Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum rediscovered his shooting touch to add 31 points connecting on 7-of-12 from three-point range.

After five-straight games scoring in double-figures, Jake Layman had just four on 2-for-7 shooting in 17 minutes. Terry Stotts elected to play Maurice Harkless and Al-Farouq Aminu down the stretch for their defense on George. The two combined for four points on 1-for-11 shooting including 0-for-5 from downtown.

Portland had the second-fewest turnovers in the NBA (12.2) over the previous 12 games, but had 20 against the Thunder leading to 29 points.

"Over the course of the game, we had a lot of turnovers," Lillard said. "When you’re in the game and you’ve got a chance down the stretch, you’ve got to take care of the ball. We didn’t do that. And that led to points for them.”

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to Phoenix to meet the Suns on Thursday night. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 PM.

Chad's Take- Harkless and Aminu combined for four points on 1-for-11 shooting. Not good enough.
