Blazers Play A Tune On The Jazz

----- Jusuf Nurkic dominates the Jazz with 22 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks as the Portland Trail Blazers down the Utah Jazz 109-104 Monday night at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Portland did something they rarely do on Monday night, grab a win at Utah. The Trail Blazers improved to 23-71 all-time at the Jazz with a 109-104 win at Vivint Smart Home Arena.

Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 26 points on 10-for-20 shooting while adding eight rebounds and assists and Jusuf Nurkic continued his dominance finishing with 22 points, eight rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks.

Utah led 51-44 at halftime, but Portland stormed back in the third quarter led by Nurkic. The Bosnian Beast scored 17 points along with five rebounds and four blocks in the period as the Blazers scored 39 points to take a four-point lead at 83-79 heading into the fourth.

“In the second half, Nurk was huge — at both ends,” Blazers coach Terry Stotts said. "He had a presence in the paint, he was blocking shots and obviously (in) pick-and-rolls finishing around the basket. He was instrumental.”

Jake Layman continued his strong play finishing with 12 points and three rebounds in 25 minutes connecting on five of his nine shots.

Portland (29-19) shot 50% from the floor including 8-for-18 from three-point range while committing just 11 turnovers for the game.

Portland's 30 assists marked the 10th time in the last 12 games the Blazers have recorded at least 25. They are 14-3 this season when they finish with 25 or more.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will play the second of a back-to-back tomorrow night in Oklahoma City against the Thunder. The game is scheduled to tip off at 5:00 PM.

Chad's Take- The Bosnian Beast changed that game for the Blazers in the third quarter.
