CJ McCollum Stuffs The 76ers

----- CJ McCollum scores 35 points as the Portland Trail Blazers rout the Philadelphia 76ers 129-95 Sunday night at Moda Center.

The slump is over!

CJ McCollum broke out of his extended shooting slump to scorch Philadelphia with 35 points as the Trail Blazers hammered the 76ers 129-95 Sunday night at Moda Center. McCollum entered the game shooting 35.6% from the floor including just 16.1% from three-point range over his last six games, but Sunday night was a different story.

McCollum connected on 13 of his 18 shots from the floor and connected on 4-for-7 from three-point range. McCollum scored 26 of his game-high 35 points in the first half.

“It was a matter of time,” coach Terry Stotts said, when asked about McCollum’s big night. “I didn’t think there was any question he’d break out sometime. It’s good for him and good for us.”

The game was over by halftime as the Blazers scored 70 first half points connecting on over 67% of their shots as they built a commanding 29-point lead.

McCollum had plenty of help from this teammates in the win. Damian Lillard scored 15 points and dished out five assists and Jusuf Nurkic added 14 points and seven rebounds on 7-for-11 shooting. Meyers Leonard added nine points and eight rebounds off the bench.

The 76ers looked lifeless playing without Joel Embiid (Sore Knee). Philadelphia wasn't locked in on defense and they struggled to make shots all night connecting on just 35.4% of their shots including an abysmal 8-for-43 from three-point range.

Portland (21-16) finished up the difficult month of December with an 8-7 record. After playing one of the most difficult schedules in the first half of the season, the Blazers will have a much easier stretch over the next two months.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to Sacramento to meet the Kings on Tuesday. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:00 PM.
