Jazz Thump The Blazers

----- Rudy Gobert dominates as the Utah Jazz blowout the Trail Blazers on Christmas night 117-96 at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City.

The Trail Blazers probably don't want to see the Jazz again this season. Rudy Gobert recorded 18 points, 14 rebounds, and seven blocks as Utah topped Portland 117-96 Tuesday night at Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Gobert has logged a double-double in nine of his last 10 games against the Blazers.

The Blazers never got their offense on track connecting on just 39.3% of their field goals including just 9-of-23 from three-point range and struggled at the foul line making just 17 of their 26 shots. Damian Lillard led the Blazers with 20 points, but the starting front court of Jusuf Nurkic, Maurice Harkless, and Al-Farouq Aminu combined for just 24 points on 8-for-24 shooting.

Utah (17-18) scorched the nets shooting 55.4% from the field, and shot 13-of-21 (61.9 percent) from 3-point range over the final three quarters.

The Jazz had seven players score in double-figures. Donovan Mitchell rebounded from his poor night Friday against Portland scoring 19 points and Ricky Rubio finished with 14 points and six assists. The Jazz got 44 points from their bench. Dante Exum scored 15 points and dished out four assists.

Up Next- The Trail Blazers will travel to Oakland to meet the Warriors on Thursday night at Oracle Arena. The game is scheduled to tip off at 7:30 PM.

Chad's Take- Portland now 22-71 all-time in Utah.
