Spurs Outlast The Blazers

----- Pau Gasol and LaMarcus Aldridge combined for 42 points as the San Antonio Spurs hand the Portland Trail Blazers their fifth-straight home loss 93-91 Thursday night at Moda Center.

It has been 32 days since the Trail Blazers last won a home game. The Blazers dropped their fifth-straight game at home after a 93-91 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Thursday night. The Blazers missed their chance for the win when CJ McCollum's three-pointer at the buzzer bounced off the rim. The Blazers longest losing streak at home in franchise history is eight games back in the 2012-2013 season.

The big scare tonight came with 7:09 to play in the third quarter. Damian Lillard limped off the court after suffering a leg contusion. He spent time on the exercise bike before returning with 10:04 left in the game, but was playing with a slight limp the rest of the way. Coach Stotts indicated after the game that Lillard's injury limited their options on offense in the final moments. Lillard's status for Friday's game against Denver is unknown at this time.

LaMarcus Aldridge led San Antonio (22-10) with 22 points and Pau Gasol added 20 points, 17 rebounds, and five assists. The Spurs connected on 51.2% of their shots from the field.

Portland (16-15) got 17 points from Lillard and Jusuf Nurkic added 15 points and six rebounds. McCollum scored just 13 points on 5-for-22 points. He missed his first 11 shots of the game. The Blazers converted a season-high 22 turnovers from the Spurs into 26 points, but San Antonio has a 53-38 edge in rebounding.

Next up- The Trail Blazers will host the Denver Nuggets on Friday night at Moda Center. Game is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM.

Chad's take- It has now been 32 days since the Blazers won a home game. Might be time to wear a different colored jersey at home.
