Beavers focus on getting better during BYE week!

The Oregon State Beavers have confounded some of the experts. Go back to August. Vegas and other preseason prognosticators picked the Beavers to win two games......maybe three. Well, here we sit after seven games with five contests to go and Oregon State sits at 3-4. Add to that a 2-2 conference record which puts them as the only team with a slight shot at catching Oregon. Everyone else in the North division has at least three losses.

Now lets be real. Oregon State's remaining schedule is not easy.

November 2 at Arizona- The Wildcats are also 2-2 in the Pac-12. They have impressive wins at Colorado and at home against UCLA. They lost to Hawaii just like the Beavers at Aloha Stadium in their opener. Right now they are on a two-game skid after losing at home to Washington and by 27-points at USC this past weekend. The Wildcats play at Stanford Saturday at 12:30pm while the Beavers rest up. This is a winnable game for Oregon State.

November 8 Washington- The Huskies are 2-3 in the conference and face Utah on November 2nd. So imagine playing the big and tough Utes and then have a short turnaround to travel to Corvallis and face the Beafvers on that Friday night at Reser. It could be interesting depending on the Beavers performance in Wildcat Stadium

November 16 Arizona State- This game will be challenging since the Sun Devils are playing good football. They did stub their toe offensively against Utah last weekend but that is no surprise. They do face a physical USC team the week before they come to Corvallis. Game time still up in the air.

November 23 at Washington State- The Cougar offense will be tough for the Beavers to stop. WSU has scored over 50 points in three of the past four matchups against the Beavers. But weather could be a big factor on the Palouse the weekend before Thanksgiving. I am trying to remember the last time OSU played in the snow. Anyone remember. This is a difficult trip before the Civil War.

November 30 at Oregon- Too far in the future to talk about now. We will go in depth at the right time.

Oregon State players are excited about the bye week and the Cal win. Safety David Morris played every snap and is healthy. I talked to him about that in Corvallis this week.
