It wasn't easy but the Oregon State Beavers used an aggressive zone defense to hold off Cal 82-74. Kristine Inigwe was stellar for the Bears with 31 points and 18 rebounds but Oregon State's post players had their moments and the Beavers improve to 20-4 on the season and sit in second place in the Pac-12 with a 10-2 record.
Destiny Slocum was tremendous at the point guard position. 26 points and four assists. Aleah Goodman shook off a cold shooting night at Stanford and made big play after big play. She wound up with 17 and Mikayla Pivec played great defense and added 16 points.
The Beavers remain in the nation's top ten despite the split in the Bay Area. The latest AP Poll has them at the #9 spot. So an epic Civil War weekend approaches. Friday night in Eugene against #3 Oregon and then on Monday at Gill. The ESPN 2 Monday night special. Both games Tip at 6:pm
