In Little Rock, Arkansas a police helicopter had undergone maintenance and was taking off when it crashed.
The pilot, a retired officer, was seriously injured.
The helicopter was taking off when the pilot began to lose control of the 2001 Bell TH-67.
The helicopter tipped onto its side and caused the rotor to snap.
The pilot, William Denio, was seriously injured, but KATV reports he was in stable condition.
The police department initially reported the crash was caused by wind and the helicopter never got off the ground, but the surveillance video shows the helicopter was airborne when the crash happened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
