The storms that moved over the Portland area Saturday afternoon brought heavy rain, pea sized hail and lightning.
The streets were covered in hail and heavy rail caused localized flooding.
At Portland International Airport, KATU News reports lightning got too close to the airport and a six minute temporary halt to fueling operations occurred.
An Alaska Airlines flight was forced to land at McNary field in Salem, because of lightning near PDX. Flight 197 from Los Angeles was delayed about an hour, but eventually arrived at PDX.
